Elettrozinco: stainless steel pickling

Most people are wrong when they think that steel does not corrode. This is why many Clients ask us: what is the point of pickling? Why pickle steel?

Steel and stainless steel, covered by a thin foil of chromium oxide, which is their natural passivation, lose their characteristics for various reasons, such as welding, hot stamping, and others, leading to the loss of their natural passivated state. Using our baths, specifically made for pickling/passivation of steel alloys, we are able to provide a special treatment that will restore the materials to their best condition.

Thanks to pickling you will get a uniform appearance and you will remove all the contaminants and oxides. When welding, the material obtained is both aesthetically and technically ready for the market. Our wide range of baths allows us to treat several types of steel: austenitic steel, martensitic steel, duplex and super-duplex steel, special steel, titanium and, if specifically requested by the Client, carbon steel.

It is crucial to remember that, before pickling, the material has to go through a degreasing process, to accurately clean the surface and remove all contaminations.
